SMM News on May 15:
According to SMM's communication and understanding, as of Thursday (May 15), the total zinc ingot inventory across seven locations tracked by SMM was 86,300 mt, an increase of 3,000 mt from May 8 and an increase of 800 mt from May 12, indicating a rise in domestic inventory. During the week, there were fewer arrivals in the Guangdong region, while some downstream enterprises that had purchased at lower prices earlier picked up goods during the week, leading to a decline in inventory. In Tianjin, some downstream enterprises were cautious about purchasing due to high prices, resulting in a slight increase in inventory, while the overall inventory change in Shanghai was relatively small. In addition, affected by the arrival of imported zinc ingots, inventory in the Zhejiang region increased significantly. Overall, inventory in the original three locations decreased by 400 mt, while inventory in the seven locations increased by 800 mt.
